The island of Avsa in the southeast Marmara Sea. It is one of the large islands in this group, the other two being Marmara and Pashalimani. Avsa Island (left) is 18 km to Erdek. There are motor boat cruises from Erdek to the island. On the other hand, boarding from Istanbul, you can cruise by ship or twin hull. Turkeli (Avsa) is another holiday island that boasts of spectacular beaches and clear water as well as famous vineyards and wine cellars. In the Manastir district stands the Byzantine Meryem Ana Monastery. Around the Gulf of Edremit, also in Balikesir province, are some of the most beautiful coastlines in the country where the clear waters meet sandy beaches encircled by the silvery green of olive groves.

Bozcaada (right), whose environment is 14 miles, is an important tourism center. The island surrounded by small and large islands around is 15 miles away from Canakkale Strait, 30 miles away from Limni, 33 miles away from Midilli. Ezine province, Geyikli borough, where transportation is maintained 3.4 miles away from Yukyeri Ferry Port. There are twelve pieces of paradise like bays, which are Liman Bay, Degirmenler Bay, Poyraz Port, Canak Port, Capraz Port, Canak Port, Kocatarla Port, Lagor Port, Ayana Port, Ayazma Bay (above), Sulubahce Bay, Habbeli Bay in the island. A Venetian castle draw attention when you come close to Bozcaada. The castle, which is used during Venetian, Genovese and Byzantium period, is highly repaired during Fatih Sultan Mehmet period due to the importance of Canakkale Strait. Wine of the island is as plenty as water; you will see lots of vineyards and orchards when you have a tour. Windmills at west of the island supply the most of the electricity needs of the island as well as its environs. There are hotels and boarding houses, appropriate for all students for accommodation in the island.

Gokceada (left) is at the northwest of the Aegean Sea and it is the biggest island of Turkey that it has. nation and foreign tourists every time interest the virgin ground and fresh sea of Gokceada island.There is not much knowledge about the historical background of the town belonging the anteque area.However,Plasgldrels are known to be the oldest inhabitants of the island. Miltiades annext the island to Athens in 500 BC and the island stayed under the management of Athens until it was taken under the rulling of Roman Empire. In 1455 Gokceada was included to the Ottoman Empire and later it was occupied by the Greek and stayed under their rule during the years of 1922-1923. In 1923 according to the Lozan peace agreement the island was given to and became the rule of Republic of Turkey on 22nd of september of 1923. Since the ancient time to this date the island was inhabited. Gokceada's surface area is 289.5 sg.km and the coastal length is 95 km. The island's north and south length is 13 km, and east-west length is 29.5 km. Gokceada (kuzulimaný) is 32 miles from Canakkale , 29 nautical miles from Bozcaada, 16 miles from Greek island of Limni and 14 miles from Semadirek. Gokceada with its very rough surface is made up from volcanic masses.The 77% of the island consist of mountains, the 12% rough surfaces and 10% of flat lands. The Meditarranean climate is typical;on its southern shores while the transitory Marmara climate is prevalent, on the northern seaboard of the island predominantly northerly and southerly winds prevale almost during the great part of the year. With and abundance of water resources Gokceada is in the fourth position in the world.
